Artist

This photo was taken in 1998, location painting in Brighton. By then I'd been drawing for 15+ years. I loved making when I was little, although my creations rarely won the many Art competitions I entered! I drew my dreams, sleeping father, doodled in church, and copied cartoons.

After graduating from Kingston University with an Illustration degree and distinction for Life Drawing, I exhibited in Sussex, the Conningsby Gallery, London, and curated an Art exhibition in Carthage, Tunisia.

I travelled extensively in Europe on location drawing trips, and I’ve been part of Surrey Artist’s Open Studios. Art is a life for me: www.katiebethart.co.uk

Teacher

I've taught Art, Design & Photography in many settings. My first 1-2-1 lesson was in 1999, and I was an Art teacher in schools for over 15 years.

I have a wealth of experience in Art GCSE & A level, and portfolio preparation. In my 6 year role as Deputy Head of House and Teacher of Art, I worked in pastoral care and with those with SEN.

Along with teaching advanced life drawing classes in Dorking, I worked for a special royal family, and for Toyota, UK. Teaching Art is my true passion which I’ve honed and strengthened for over 25yrs. Read my BLOG.

Founder

I founded Inner Art Tuition in 2017 in Reigate and grew our community of like minded Art tutors and students to a strong team. Outgrowing our first studio, we moved to a wonderful studio space on Somerset Road , and now to our current Horse Hill location.

I developed Art tuition offerings, whilst retaining my Inner Art Vision. Inner Art won 'Social Impact' category at Reigate & Banstead Business Awards, and RBBC Entrepreneur Academy in 2022. As well as providing Art Tuition for over 100 students each week, we created murals, worked in schools and for charities eg ESDAS & Loveworks, held Open Days & Art events, and most importantly made connections with many wonderful local families and individuals.

Martial Artist

I kickboxed for many years and love the physical and mental challenges of the sport.

I taught kickboxing classes and these, alongside my own training and competition experience led me to discover similarities between martial arts and creative arts including how mindset creates progress.

I've produced photoshoots and filmshoots for martial arts clubs, appeared in workout videos and modelled in photoshoots.

I was fortunate to be a stunt double for Tilda Swinton in the Marvel movie Doctor Strange. Wellbeing and alignment with my inner voice is key.

Mother

My daughters are teenagers now, and it's a privilege to share each and every day with them. Motherhood is an amazing and deep experience which has opened up my understanding of people and strengthened my teaching and learning methods.

My gratitude and appreciation found new heights through my children. Whether they enter the world of Art, martial arts, or any other field, I'm glad to counsel them, and myself, that love is not to be sought after but discovered within.
